London is hot for pop up restaurants and the guys at St Martin’s Lane hotel are no exception. Their award winning restaurant Asia de Cuba, serving Chino-Latino food, has taken over the “Front Room” to launch their Ceviche and Rum pop up.
Peruvian flavours are the hottest food trend in London right now with several new places springing up in town. There is a simple menu of 4 ceviches at £6 each( A peruvian dish of raw fish marinated with citrus juices), a menu of rum drinks and their famed Mexican Doughnuts with Butterscotch sauce (£3.50).
The flavours were very fresh and combinations were not your usual. We tasted Salmon and Avocado Helado (sharp marinated salmon with cold avocado ice cream), curry kingfish and passionfruit, Grouper, Seville orange and aji amarillo and prawn, snapper and confit watermelon. All this and killer mojitos at just £4. A great place to stop by for a quick bite and a drink, very reasonable prices for the area.
This Ceviche pop up will run until 25 July and is open from 11.30 am to 7pm. Catch it while you can.
The Front Room is located at 45 St Martin’s Lane, WC2N 4HX.
